Although you can get there by road, air travel to Mexico from Canada
and the United States is the most convenient way.
Flights arrive and depart daily and spending a bit of time
researching the online
travel booking sites can probably get you a
cheap airfare deal.
So far, we've been to
Ixtapa (shown below) and
Cozumel
(beautiful turquoise water).
Both times we flew out of
Toronto and the flight length for the air travel
to Mexico varied
between 4 and 6 hours.

Brrrr ... Good bye cold wintery Toronto ...

Mmmm ... Hellooooo WARM Mexico!

During Your Flight
For Adults:
Great ways to
pass the time on the flight:
- Check out the
in-flight movie. If you've traveled by air before and
previously bought a headset to listen to the movie, be sure
to pack it (I always forget).
- Flip open the
spanish/english dictionary
or book and practice some commonly used
terms in Mexico
- Have a
snooze listening to your
favorite tunes on
your personal disc player (I recommend you bring one if you have
one because the music wasn't the greatest on the airline
stations).
- Plan your
itinerary; jot down some ideas of what you would like
to do in Mexico.
- Bring along
some compact travel games to keep
busy during the flight.
For Kids:
For your
little ones (and teenagers), you'll need more than just a short list of things to
do. The movies that the airline shows may not hold their
attention!
You can't have a reasonably enjoyable flight to
start off your Mexico family vacation if the kids aren't
happy!
So be sure to
bring along some activities for them or you'll be spending
most of your time trying to keep them from climbing the
airplane walls :)
We have prepared
a list of kid's games, activities and ideas that we are sure
you and your children will have fun with during your flight.

Ahhhhh
yes, an Ixtapa beach in

Fontan Ixtapa Beach Resort
(Ixtapa
our favorite spot
in Mexico so far)
Both times we
traveled to Mexico we purchased
all inclusive packages so our return
flight was included in the price. Although during our research
for our trips we also looked at separate pricing for air travel to
Mexico and
hotel accommodations.
Tips For
Buying Cheap Airline Tickets
1. Use an
online
booking agency that compares the different prices of airfares for
you to find the best discount airfare.
2. Bear in mind
that certain days of the week will be cheaper
to fly. When comparing prices, plug in different days to see
the differences - you may be surprised. Be as flexible in your
dates and times of travel as possible to get the best prices.
3. Check if the
booking agency can include other deals with your air travel
to Mexico tickets; car rentals, restaurant discounts, hotel rooms, etc.
4. Check the
last minute deals pages on the online booking sites. There
may be an air travel to Mexico sell off on tickets or vacation packages that you can pick
up at a steal price.
5. Booking
as early ahead as possible may get you extra airline
ticket savings.
