Mexico Passports and Travel Requirements
When traveling to Mexico, Canadians and U.S. citizens, along with a few other countries, are required to carry at least an original birth certificate (not baptismal certificate) and one piece of photo identification. It is highly recommended to obtain a passport for
all international traveling.
Remember it can take up to a few
months to receive your passports for Mexico, so be sure to apply well before your
planned trip. Advisor trips major tip!
You will also be required to fill out a
Mexican Tourist Permit. The cost of the permit is approximately
$20 U.S.
If you are traveling to
Mexico by airplane
the permit will most likely be included in the ticket price and you can
fill out the readily available form on the flight.
If you are
traveling by automobile you can pick up a form at the border.
