Mexico Passports and Travel Requirements
When
traveling to Mexico, Canadians and U.S. citizens, along with a few other
countries, are required to carry at least an original birth
certificate (not baptismal certificate) and one piece of photo
identification.
It is highly recommended to obtain a passport for
all international traveling.
Remember it can take up to a few
months to receive your passports for Mexico, so be sure to apply well before your
planned trip. Advisor trips major tip!
You will also be required to fill out a
Mexican Tourist Permit. The cost of the permit is approximately
$20 U.S.
If you are traveling to
Mexico by airplane
the permit will most likely be included in the ticket price and you can
fill out the readily available form on the flight.
