It's also a good idea to purchase
trip cancellation insurance if you are not too close to
your air travel to Mexico departure date. You never
know what could come up between the booking and the flight.
We're located about 4 hours north of Toronto so we always leave a
day early and have a stop-over at a hotel in Toronto before going to
the airport.
That leaves us enough "buffer"
time if something goes wrong on the way to Toronto.
We also make
sure to get the appropriate medical insurance coverage for
the trip to Mexico which you can usually purchase when you buy your
tickets.
While the medical service in Mexico is reasonable, if
something does go wrong and you are without insurance, you may find
yourself having to come up with a lot of cash to pay for medical
expenses.
If you purchase
your tickets with a credit card, check to see if your credit
card company includes insurance coverage and the coverage
details.
